DigitalPianoScore is an independent review site. Classically trained pianist, 25 years of teaching, now runs a home studio where she teaches 30 students a week and records session work. Has owned 12 digital pianos over her career, from a $200 Casio to a $6,000 slab. Keeps a test routine: the same Bach prelude, the same Chopin nocturne, and a blues improvisation for every instrument she reviews, plus a dB meter and a scale for action weight.

Who's Behind This

Yuki, based in Seattle, Washington, has been testing digital pianos & keyboards for years. Every review on this site comes from hands-on time with the actual product — not spec sheets.

What We Believe

• The action is the piano. Everything else - samples, speakers, Bluetooth - is a feature. I can tell a $400 action from a $2,000 action blindfolded.
• Speaker quality matters more than sample library size. A great sample through a bad speaker sounds like a great sample through a pillow.
• Polyphony numbers are marketing. Nobody plays 256 notes at once.
• A digital piano is a practice tool first. If it doesn't make you want to practice, it failed.
